5 plus am.
The beautiful sunrise at Pulau Semakau.
And not to forget mentioning, the long winding road that took the group of us to the mosquito zone.
Picture taken by me and Yunn Yue before entering the sickening mosquito zone.
The trek through the jungle area (or so-called mosquito zone) was quite unforgettable. The ground was so mushy and mooshy and mishy and mashy. As a result, my shoes did performed a magic trick by turning from white to brown. That jungle-like pathway is actually part of the mangrove swamp area, so the ground is really soft and squishy. Resembles a ground of melted marshmellow, in a hue of brown. Makes me get hungry =)

our group's badge - volute-
Before we entered the mosquito zone, our group ( named volute - which i do not know what it means), were furiously spraying on insect repellent. Apparently nobody brought their insect repellent while only me - the kiasu soh- brought , so naturally all borrowed mine. Throughout the whole mosquito endeavour, i was the insect repellent supplier. Expectedly, my supply ran out so there is a fall in quantity supplied...
During the route through the squishy plaza, there were not much mosquitoes in sight. Until we finally stepped onto the intertidal area, many tremendous swarms of MR MOS ES greeted us delightfully. They were pleased(only guessing as i can't read mosquitoes expressions) to see a feast (our blood ) before their eyes. Unfortunately, the insect repellent provided by our most reliable supplier worked like magic. Thus, few of us only suffered minor bites. Sorry mr mos, there's no free lunch in the world.

The picture on the right is the intertidal area at Semakau Island. I won't deny it looks seriously like a land of dull, dirty, smelly, eeky mud hell from here.
however, our parents and teachers often teach us not to look at things from the surface right?
So, i decided to view things more deeply.
And, i found out, this hell has a paradise within it.
These are the most magical and beautiful living organisms i found there.
